Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and what we will never do with it. Written in plain English, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.

Last updated: September 8, 2026

EATADIK is published by Patriot Projects LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"). This policy covers this website, including the EATADIK booklet pages at /eatadik/ and Patriot Consulting at /consulting/. It does not cover Amazon, which has its own privacy policy governing anything you do on Amazon's site.

The short version

  • The only personal information we ask you for is your email address, plus a few optional details, and only if you choose to give them to us.
  • We use it to send you the free acronym glossary, occasional updates about new booklets, and - if you joined the Patriot Consulting list - the American supplier write-ups.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Not to anyone, not ever.
  • You can unsubscribe from every email with one click, and ask us to delete your record entirely.

What we collect

Information you give us

Email address. If you sign up for the free Board-Prep Acronym Glossary, we collect the email address you enter. That is the only field on the form.

The Patriot Consulting list. If you join the list at /consulting/, the form asks for your email address and which of three groups you belong to (you buy things, you make things, or you are a consumer looking for an American-made version of something). It also offers three optional fields - your name, your company, and a line about what you are looking for or what you make. Only the email address and the group are required; leave the rest blank and nothing is lost. We store the wording of the consent you agreed to, the date and time, and the country your request came from, so we have a record of what you actually signed up for.

Bot protection. That form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than a script. Turnstile is processed by Cloudflare and is not used to advertise to you or to track you across other sites.

Anything you email us. If you write to us about a bulk order, a correction, or anything else, we keep that message and your email address so we can answer you.

Information collected automatically

Our web host records standard server log data - IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps - as part of serving the site and protecting it from abuse. We do not use this to build a profile of you.

Cookies. This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own.

Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count how many people visit the site and which pages get read. It has been running since June 2026, and this policy should have said so from the start - that is our error and this paragraph corrects it. It is deliberately the least invasive tool we could find. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, and it does not fingerprint you: Cloudflare states that it does not track users over time by IP address, User Agent string, or any other fixed attribute. Rather than following individual people, it counts a “visit” as a page view that arrived from a different website. Nothing it records identifies you, we cannot use it to see what any one person did on this site, and it is never used to advertise to you or to follow you anywhere else. It is processed by Cloudflare, who also host this site.

If we ever add advertising measurement, a heavier analytics tool, or anything that tracks you across other sites, we will update this page and say so plainly before it goes live.

How we use it

  • To send you the free glossary you asked for.
  • To send you the supplier write-ups, if you joined the Patriot Consulting list, matched to the group you told us you are in.
  • To tell you when a new branch, trade, or checkride booklet is released.
  • To answer questions you send us.
  • To keep the site running and secure.

We aim to email no more than once a week, and usually far less.

Who we share it with

We share your email address only with the service providers required to deliver what you asked for:

  • Our email service provider, which stores the list and sends the messages. They process the data on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.
  • Our web host, which serves this site.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect our rights or someone's safety. Beyond that, no one gets your data. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Verifying veteran-owned status

If you tell us your business is veteran-owned, we verify it one of two ways. Either you give us an SBA veteran-owned or service-disabled veteran-owned small business certification number, which we check against the public record, or you show us a DD-214 or a VA letter once, in person or on a call.

We do not keep a copy of your discharge papers or your VA correspondence, and we never ask you to email them to us. What we write down is that the status was verified, the date it was verified, which of the two routes was used, and the certification number if there was one. Nothing else off the document is recorded - not your service dates, not your rating, not your character of service, not your Social Security number. If you show us a document in person, it goes straight back in your hand.

You can ask us at any time to remove the veteran-owned flag from your record, and we will, without asking you why.

Advertising on this site

We sell a small number of paid placements. Everything about them is deliberately old-fashioned: an advertisement is a static image or plain text, served from our own servers, and it is labelled as advertising where you can see it. There are no third-party ad networks, no ad-serving scripts, no tracking pixels, no cookies set by an advertiser, and no behavioural or interest-based targeting of any kind. An advertiser pays to appear next to what you are reading; it learns nothing about you.

No advertiser ever receives your email address, your name, or any other personal information about you, and we do not sell, rent or share the mailing list. If an advertiser sponsors an email, the sponsor message goes out inside our mailing - the advertiser never gets the addresses. Should we ever change any of this, we will update this policy and say so plainly before it takes effect.

Paid placement buys visibility and nothing else. It never puts a company on a supplier short list, never moves one up, and never changes the content of a sourcing report.

Amazon links and affiliate disclosure

Links on this site to Amazon are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, Patriot Projects LLC earns from qualifying purchases. This costs you nothing - the price is the same either way. When you click through to Amazon, you are on Amazon's site, subject to Amazon's privacy policy and cookies, not ours. We never see your payment details or order information.

How long we keep it

Mailing-list records are stored in a database we run ourselves on Cloudflare infrastructure, in the United States. We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Unsubscribing removes you from mailings; asking for deletion removes the record.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of any email we send, or on the unsubscribe page at any time.
  • Ask what we hold about you, and we will tell you.
  • Ask us to correct or delete it, and we will.

Residents of California, Colorado, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws, and residents of the UK and EEA, have specific rights to access, correct, delete, and port their personal data, and to withdraw consent. We honor those requests from everyone, regardless of where you live - it is simpler and it is the right thing to do. Email patriotprojectsconsulting@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Children

This site is intended for adults and for service members. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us their email address, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and our email list is held by a reputable provider behind their own access controls. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise - but we collect so little that there is very little to lose.

Where your data is processed

We operate in the United States and our service providers store data in the United States. If you are writing from outside the U.S., you are consenting to that transfer.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant - new tracking, a new category of data, a new recipient - we will say so on this page and, where it affects the list, by email.
